Travel Fee

A travel fee will be applied to any session outside of Denton County. Exceptions may be made if stated in a contract before the booking of a session. The fee will be included in the session fee that is due at the time of a scheduled session and client will be notified if a travel fee is applied. This fee is non refundable.

Cancelation & Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule due to illness, injury or scheduling conflict, please contact me 8 hours in advance. I understand life happens so please let me know as soon as possible if you will need to reschedule. If you are a no-show to your session without contacting me first you will forfeit your session fee. If for any reason I need to cancel a shoot due to health or family emergency, a full refund will be given and rescheduling will be made available.

Payments

    Cash or credit.

Location session

I do not photograph on train tracks, busy roads or on private property. If the client wishes to be photographed at a location that requires a photography fee it is the client’s responsibility to pay this fee in addition to my fee. While on location, anyone with the party of the client are required to treat every location properly. No trash, pet mess, inappropriate behavior, etc. will be allowed. Failure to follow location rules (within reason), client forfeits a refund of session fee and session will be canceled.

Studio session

I am not responsible for any lost or broken items while in my studio/home. If your lost property is found please contact me to schedule a time to come by and retrieve. Please limit personal items when in my studio due to space. Because my studio is in my home, I ask that clients watch over their party to keep them in the designated area for sessions. Pets will only be allowed if arranged before a session. Failure to follow studio rules or in the event something is broken, client forfeits a refund of session fee and will be asked to leave as well as could receive a bill to replace broken item(s).

Sessions are sometimes booked back to back so please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your session also. Babies and children may not always be camera ready. In this case an additional 15 minutes will be given to accommodate at no additional charge. If the additional time is not enough the client may be asked to reschedule and their session fee will be applied to a different date.

What does the session fee cover?

A session fee is what you pay to book a session with me. A session fee covers my time, experience, equipment and talent. The fee is non refundable to anyone who is late or does not contact me before the appointed time. The fee can be reapplied if rescheduling is needed. A refund will be issued if I need to cancel a session.

This fee is separate from ordering your photos. That is a separate cost.

What is your experience?

I have been a professional (paid) photographer since 2005. I have a bachelor's degree in integrated studies with a concentration in photography from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS. I also have a bachelor's degree in mass media with an emphasis in public relations from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. I was a photographer among other positions at Emporia State's newspaper The Bulletin. I worked as a student photographer at University Photography while at Emporia State. I worked as a photographer at Sears Portraits. I was a photographer for the Topeka RoadRunners hockey team. In 2013 I opened my own studio and have been a freelance photographer ever since.

What is the best way to contact you?

The best way to reach me is through my business facebook page. I check it the most often but I also use e-mail. I have a new way to make appointments that sends me e-mails. If you need to reach me quickly you can call my cell phone but text is better than calling because I prefer to have a written history of any conversations.

When are you open?

You can e-mail, text me or message me 24/7. I will respond usually within the hour. You can call me anytime from 7 am to 9 pm. My schedule is always changing so don't hesitate to ask what days I am available. Weekends are when I usually take sessions but I do have my studio availability during the week as well.

How will I get my photos?

Your album will be available on my shootproof page and there you will be able to purchase prints and digital images. Prior arrangements will be made if you get digital images sent to your e-mail.

What is your style of photography?

I don't really think I have a specific style. I like to try new things. I have a lot of experience and patience working with children. My favorite type of photography is more of a photojournalism style where subjects are more natural and have fun instead of being stiff and posed.

Can I post photos to my social media?

Yes, but please keep the Virgo Immen watermark on the photo or put Virgo Immen Photography in the caption. I'm a small business with no budget for advertising yet so I get business from word of mouth. I've spent a lot years and money learning my craft and deserve to have credit for my work.

What are prices beyond a photo shoot?

After a session fee is paid prints and digital images are available for purchase. Collages are available.

How quickly will I get photos?

Your album will be posted within 24. You have 30 days to order digital or prints.

What does Virgo Immen mean?

In honor of my mom. My mom was always my biggest supporter in anything I ever tried. She passed away in 2006 at the beginning of my sophomore year in college when I had just changed my major to photography. In a public relations class I took we had to create a business card for a pretend business we were creating and I decided to do a photography business. I needed a name and knew I didn't want to go with my own name or a cute photography themed name-I wanted it to stand for something. My mom's horoscope was Virgo and she used to read her horoscope every night before bed. So I started playing around with logo designs based around the Virgo symbol and then just from that played around with my mom's maiden name Immenschuh. It is a unique name but not always easy for people to spell so I cut it down to Immen and liked how it sounded. I put the two together and a name was created for the assignment. Two years later when I was making a Facebook page to start my new photography business for real I went back to the assignment and said why not I mean it honors my mom, it sounds different and it wasn't like I had too many other ideas for a business name anyways.

Why do you have a 785 number?

I have kept my Kansas phone number.
Hi, I'm Sheena, the owner of Virgo Immen Photography. I named my business in honor of my mom who passed away in 2006. She was a Virgo who shares a birthday with my husband Travis. Her maiden name was Immenschuh. While in college, I had to do a project where I had to create a pretend small business and create a logo. After many attempts I landed on Virgo Immen and it has stuck ever since that project.

I've been doing photography since I was a kid. I would dress my younger sister and pets up then pose them. In college I worked at the university newspaper, took photos for their marketing and photographed various clubs I was involved with. I graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor's degree in integrated studies with a concentration in photography. I also graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor's degree in public relations. I have experience working in a studio, as a freelancer and as a photojournalist. I still dress my sister and pets up to pose them but now I also include other family members and my own children.

I opened my own business in 2013 in Lawrence, KS. In 2015, Travis accepted a new job and we moved to Providence Village, TX. Slowly I have grown my business from just portraits to including every style of portrait, parties, weddings and events. I also do graphic design and marketing.

When I'm not doing photography, I'm spending time with Travis and our daughters Easton and Kalynn. We have a cocker spaniel named Max and a cat named Blue as well as a salt water tank with a few fish. I like to read, swim, travel, write, sew, craft and run 5k races. I am the special events chair for my daughter's school PTO, I am the founding member of The Broad Collective, an all female small business owners group in Providence Village that empower female small business owners and I was on the planning committee for the Providence Village Christmas parade committee.

Artists are often asked what their work costs and then asked if they can cut that price. Other professionals aren't treated the same as an artist is when it comes to cost.
