I have had a crazy month of June and it feels amazing. Business is really doing great and I'm absolutely loving it. I have had orders pretty much every day and my friends and customers have been so great at spreading the word of my business. I'm really kicking myself that I didn't believe in Stitching Star more. I was always too scared to promote that business as much b/c I didn't think I was that good at it and honestly I wanted to pursue my photography more. But with the photography side slow during the summer, I am so glad that I've stepped back from it and refocused my attention.

I've had my etsy shop open for over a month and honestly was a little disappointed I wasn't getting anyone to even look at my page. I wasn't really focused on it though so I have no one to blame but myself. Not great photos posted, not a lot of items listed and thrown together information. But then I got an order for my Dr. Seuss pillows out of the blue. I was starting to think they weren't going to sell b/c it was summer and people were only buying them during the school year. The first person who ordered was from New York! She ordered three pillows. Then an hour later I had a message from another woman asking if I offered a discount if she ordered all 10. I was blown away. Someone wanted to order all 10 pillows so of course I made her a deal and shipped all 10 to Georgia. The next day I then had another order to New York for 2 pillows. Before I could get one box shipped I would have another order. Then I had a New Jersey order for 3 more pillows. I was so excited I seriously was dancing and laughing around the house. Honestly I don't know what I expected from my etsy shop but I was so blown away by these orders.

Now I have this new goal I want to achieve. I want to ship one of my products to every state in America. I don't care how long it takes but I want this to happen. My friend Michelle from college just ordered some bows so I get to put a pin in Hawaii. I'm up to 6 states! Kansas, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Georgia and Hawaii.

I'm going to really clean up my etsy shop and work on getting better photos of my products, I'm going to plan better for upcoming events especially the holidays because I know I will already be busy with our schedule but also photography will pick up and people will start buying for the holidays. I also need to work on presentation so I can start doing vendor events. With all of this I know I need to cut back in other areas so I think I'll not take on any other web design clients and I'm dropping weddings from photography. I haven't done any weddings lately but I'm not going to even give quotes or pursue trying to book weddings.
